Teal (1871-1954) graduated from Baltimore Medical College in 1893 and practiced medicine for 60 years. Teal was influential in bringing the railroad to Chesterfield. He also established the Teal Light and Power Co. in 1917, which delivered power to the town from 1917-1921. A dam and powerhouse generated power, which was carried to Chesterfield by six miles of transmission lines.
